Brows

Making the decision to enhance your eyebrows is an important one!
Make sure you know all the facts before deciding if this procedure is right for you.

Microblading is a Semi-Permanent Method of Tattooing.
It is often referred to as eyebrow embroidery and micro-stroking.  Feather-like strokes are drawn onto the brows with a disposable hand tool instead of a machine.  The pigments are deposited into the upper layer of the dermis, making it shallower than traditional permanent makeup technique.  The results are more natural looking, hair-like strokes that complement the existing hair. This method is ideal for those who are looking to change up their eyebrow shape, make their brows fuller or for those who are suffering from hair loss conditions such as alopecia.

There are many skin issues that can complicate microblading and would lead to someone not being an optimal client for this procedure. People who’s skin are easily prone to complications from eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pillars and dermatitis, these are all conditions that causes skin to flake, itch or aggravate easily, may not be good candidates for microblading. The skin is constantly shedding which will shed pigment out with it. Facial issues that are chronic such as severe acne or rosacea also will cause issues due that this type of skin can easily bleed, which will push pigment out as you are trying to implant it, leaving a faded finished product.

The most common issue is oily skin. Oily skin will cause tattooed hair strokes to blur together and give a more powdered look than hair strokes.

Piercings, scars and bumps can have issues retaining pigment as well. People will have a scar in the brow and you need to properly inform them that that area may have issues.

Other reasons why someone may not be a good candidate:

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
  • Keloid Scarring and Rosacea (Scar tissue raised)
  • Not recommended if you have any kind of skin condition near your eyebrows.  eczema, shingles, rashes, or anything else near eyebrows.
  • Anaemic
  • The pigment iron-based so it can fade (Vegan or Vegetarian – boost iron before or after)
  • Heart Disease
  • Thin Skin
  • Individuals with transmittable blood disease such as HIV or Hepatitis. Microblading artists cut into the skin which can impact the immune system and healing process of the individual.
  • If you’ve had Botox or fillers in the brow area. It is recommended to get Microblading first!  Or it is suggested to wait 4 weeks after Botox/fillers before getting Microblading done.
  • Individuals undergoing active chemotherapy.
  • Individuals with oily skin. Those with very oily skin and large pores are not good candidates for Microblading. If you have less oily or combination skin, I will suggest other techniques like Ombre/Shading.
  • Individuals under 18 years of age.
  • Individuals with pre-existing eyebrow tattoo.

Please contact me to book a free consultation to further discuss if you are a candidate for Microblading. It is important that your health is in good standing before being tattooed.

With the Microblading method, you can have natural looking makeup all day, everyday. Because this is a manual process is done by hand, it is easy to avoid harsh, dark, and unnatural looks that may be caused by permanent makeup machines.

Microblading is the gentlest method you will find for creating eyebrow tattoos. If you feel anything at all, the sensation is said to be similar to scratching of the skin. We use anaesthetic numbing cream to ensure optimal comfort for our clients. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but generally speaking, most clients are perfectly comfortable throughout the entire procedure. However, if your tolerance to pain is low, you may want to contact your physician for a prescription topical anaesthetic.

Symmetry Beauty Bar will include you in 100% of the process. Our priority is focused on exceeding your expectations. We aim to create brows that are aesthetically pleasing to the person’s brow shape and face.

The timing for the procedure varies, depending on client and condition. But typically 2.5 – 3 hours. Follow-up sessions are generally 1.5 – 2 hours.

Touch-ups are recommended within 6-8 weeks after the first application. Please keep in mind that the colour will fade significantly from your first appointment to your touch-up appointment. The shade can fade up to 2 shades lighter or more. At the touch-up appointment is required for making adjustments to the shape and colour. After your first appointment, your brows will appear significantly darker for approximately a week and start to lighten after two weeks.

In order to keep your Microblading results and eyebrows looking fresh, annual touch-ups are recommended to refresh the colour.

Use gentle cleansers, apply sunblock daily or avoid the sun completely to keep your beautiful eyebrows lasting longer.

Approximately 2.5-3 hours. More complex cases may take longer.

No. Certified and trained professionals ensure proper lash lift procedures are followed.

About 50-90 minutes depends on how long and coarse the eyelashes are and if your lashes will be tinted.

A lash lift and tint can last anywhere between 6-10 weeks. Results may vary from client to client depending on their lash growth cycle. There are some situations that may cause the lift to drop/weaken prematurely such as swimming, use off harsh products or heat. If you find that your lift does not last the full 2 months, you can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks of having the initial treatment.

A lash lift will begin to naturally start to drop after about 2 months and your lashes will be back to their natural look. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of one month if you feel you need to, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.

Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.

No. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler, But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.

Avoid oil-based moisturizers and oil-based face washes for it breaks down the tint faster.

Do not allow water to come into contact with your eyes or lashes
– Do not apply any cleansers, or creams around the eye area
– Avoid touching or rubbing your lashes
– Do not use any mascara or lash serums
– Avoid saunas, spas, swimming and steam

Everyday maintenance for your Yumi Lash Lift:
– Use Yumi Lashes Keratin Mascara every day to keep your lashes healthy, strong and conditioned

– Avoid waterproof mascara as it can be more damaging to the natural lashes

– Do not use eyelash extensions while you have a lash lift as you will increase the risk of damaging your natural lashes

– Your lash lift will last anywhere between 6-10 weeks depending on your natural lash growth.
